Abstract

This study aims to describe the inculcation of disciplined and responsible characters, inhibiting and motivating factors, as well as the role of parents through the enforcement of school rules for class XII students at SMK Negeri 1 Gesi, Sragen Regency for the 2021/2022 academic year. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with a case study design. Collecting data using the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses an interactive analysis model. Test the validity of the data using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of this study indicate that the cultivation of the character of discipline and responsibility by providing socialization of order through habituation to be present on time, get used to wearing complete and neat uniforms, comply with regulations, carry out picket duties regularly, maintain and maintain educational facilities, and participate in activities school. The inhibiting factors are distance to school and problems with vehicles, lack of attention from parents, influence from other students, forgotten and lost attributes, lack of understanding of school rules, students are lazy and intentionally come late, limits on borrowing tools and short teaching materials and students are not interested in the activities organized by the school. The driving factors are the existence of written sanctions, the monitoring and implementation of inspections, the existence of a student pocket book as a guide and rewards in the form of appreciation, the attention of the homeroom teacher and fellow picket groups to create a clean and comfortable learning atmosphere, a record of loan tools and teaching materials and fines for those who destroy and eliminate, and students` understanding of the benefits derived from participating in school activities. The role of parents in instilling the character of discipline and responsibility is by providing attention and examples in daily activities through habituation of time discipline, giving examples of dress ethics in accordance with Islamic law, getting used to obeying rules in the family and community environment, providing material support in the form of cleaning tools, reminding the grace period for borrowing educational facilities, and obliging to participate in school activities that have been socialized.
