Abstract

Income distribution inequality is one of the most common economic problems in many countries, including Indonesia. In Central Java, income inequality was, and still is, relatively high. This study aimed to estimate the effect of GDP growth, minimum wage, and inflation on income inequality of each SWP in Central Java from 2014 to 2019 using a panel data regression with a Random Effects Model (REM) approach. The results of this study showed that the minimum wage had a negative effect on income inequality, while the growth of GDP and inflation had no effect on income inequality. The governments are expected to be able to take special policies in the economic field to further explore the potential of each SWP in Central Java so that economic growth increases and income inequality can be reduced.
