Abstract

The midwives in BPM Wahyuni manually filled their logbooks to record all of the medication transactions they did. It was an arduous job and required more time to finish. This process is also negatively impacted the accuracy of the records. The objective of this study is to develop a system to overcome those difficulties, thus it will make the task easier for the midwives. Prototyping method is applied to develop the medicine inventory system. The key points of this method are communication and evaluation to guarantee a maximum outcome. For this reason three prototypes were evaluated directly by the user during the development period. This web-based system uses PHP as the programming language, and MySQL as the database. The main feature of the system is managing the data of medicine transactions (selling and buying), both medicine for common illnesses and medicine for KB and immunization. To ensure that all the menus and features are working properly, the system was evaluated using a black box testing and the test result confirms that each menu and feature is perfectly working as desired. The next evaluation was usability testing using System Usabilty Score (SUS) method, the system obtained 78.75 as the SUS score, which means that it is in the acceptable category and it is well received by the user.
