Abstract

The reseaech discusses a topic of a woman's right of wealth based on purposes of islamic law according to Syaikh Ibnu Ashur. It explains woman's right of wealth, i.e. livelihood, legacy, dowry, and explanation of purposes of islamic law according to Syaikh Ibnu Ashur; It analyzes rights and implementation on the three aspects. The research tries to answer the dificulties, and the most of them: What is woman's rights of wealth according to Syaikh Ibnu Ashur and how to implementate to the three aspects. The method of this researh is library analysis research by describing woman's rights of wealth then analyzing them with Syaikh Ibnu Ashur' thought of purposes of islamic law and other scholars' thought then aplicating them on three aspects; The result is that the livelihood and legacy are the rights of wealth that a man must pay to a woman, and also dowry, but it ( dowry) is a prize and a gift, not a subtitute; That primary purposes of islamic law on woman's rights of wealth: Protecting the descents; It is general purpose of marriage in which it is the reason of compulsory to this right, so with it, protecting the descents becomes complete;Protecting the soul is poor woman's fulfilling the needs; Protecting a woman from destructive activities; Protecting the religion till a woman does not perform a forbidden deed, differentiating between adultery and shameful deed . As for secondary: empowering marriage bond, helping each other carrying responspility, and man's leadership in a family makes eternal marriage. As for tertiary: woman's livelihood is enriching, implementing woman's respectbility to man's leadership, enabling a woman getting wealth, invessting and etc. Keywords: rights of wealth, woman, purpose of islamic law, Ibnu Ashur
