Abstract

The process of distributing electric power from substations to consumers will inevitably cause load imbalance problems in the distribution transformer. The load imbalance is caused by the difference in values between the phases of the secondary side of the distribution transformer, namely phase R, phase S, and phase T. The impact of this load imbalance is the emergence of power losses, namely load loss (copper loss) and losses due to current flowing on the side of the distribution transformer. transformer neutral. In addition, the load imbalance also results in a decrease in the efficiency of the distribution transformer. This study aims to analyze the effect of load imbalance on power losses and efficiency in distribution transformers. The method used in this research is the collection of distribution transformer data from PLN Ngawi and calculation analysis by making a program for calculating transformer loading, load imbalances, power losses and efficiency in Matlab software. The results of the analysis of program calculations of 3 distribution transformers for load imbalance the lowest value on the second transformer during the day is 12.12% and the highest is on the third transformer at noon 18.09%. the lowest value of power loss on third transformer at night is 0.50 kW and the highest value on first transformer at night is 4.83 kW, the lowest efficiency value in the first transformer at night is 95.45% and the highest value is on the third transformer in the afternoon day 98.02%.
