Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the morphological errors found in the article texts of the 12th-grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Kota Besi. The object under study was the morphological errors in the article text of class 12 students of SMK Negeri 1 Kota Besi. The data collection techniques were listening and note-taking techniques by listening and recording data carefully to obtain data that were relevant and in accordance with the objectives of the study. The data analysis method used in this study was the method of dividing and sorting the determining elements. The results showed that in the article texts of the 12th-grade students, there were morphological errors, such as in writing the prefixes me-, ber-, ke-, di-, se-, per-, suffixes –an, –nya, –i, confix, pleonasm, reduplication, and compounding. In addition to the writing errors mentioned, there were still some errors such as ambiguity in the sentences, errors in the use of standard words that are not in accordance with the Indonesian language rules, and errors in writing foreign words that make some sentences ambiguous or unclear.
