Abstract
The movie “Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini” (2020) is an Indonesian movie that tells about conflicts among family members that commonly occur in every family in a society. A harmonious family can be described as a family which are dreamt by all people. However, there are conflicts that inevitably occur in every family. Each family has its own conflict. The purpose of this research is to find out how people manage conflicts that occur among them. The conflict mostly involves parents and their children. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This research uses the semiotic theory by Roland Barthes. Data sampling technique is done by observing the research subject as well as taking certain pictures of the movie scenes. The sample in the research uses purposive sampling. The research object is the movie “Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini”. The result of the research indicates that the parents’ overprotective attitude toward their children can create various kinds of conflicts among parents and children.
