Abstract

The world has been hit by a global pandemic, namely Covid-19, all aspects of life have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, including the education aspect. The impact of this pandemic has changed the policy of the learning system from face-to-face learning to distance learning. Along with the development of technology, there are many learning media that can be used to facilitate teaching and learning activities. Learning media that can be used by students during this pandemic are online-based media, e-books are one of the learning media that can be used. E-books have the advantage that they can be accessed anywhere, anytime, both online and offline. This study aims to determine the learning outcomes and effectiveness of e-book for class X volcanic eruptions at SMAN 1 Banyudono. The method used in this research is True Experimental Design. The design of this study was a pretest-posttest control group, in the design of this study using two classes, the first class was the treated class group, the second group was the untreated control group. Data collection techniques used are using tests, documentation and observation. The results showed the average value of the pretest in the control class with 36 students getting an average score of 54 and posttest 70 an increase of 16 points, while in the experimental class with 36 students getting an average score of 64 pretest and posttest 88 occurred increase of 24 points. Based on the results of data analysis in this study, it shows that learning using e-book learning media can increase students' knowledge.
