Abstract
There are three main problems in reproductive health in Indonesia, one of them is the high incidence of unwanted pregnancies as a result of free sex. According to data from the 2015 BKKBN, there are 48 teenagers out of 1000 teenagers experiencing pregnancy in their teens, the high rate of teenage pregnancy is in line with the low level of knowledge, attitudes and practices of adolescents regarding reproductive health. And what must be done to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of teenagers, are to use audiovisual media and leaflets in providing health education. The purpose of the study is to determine the effectiveness of health education between audiovisual media and leaflet media on knowledge, attitudes and practices about reproductive health at SMPN 1 Gemolong. This research method is a quasi-experimental, with a two group pretest posttest design. The sample in this study are 136 students from class IX, and divided into two groups, 68 respondents in the first group using audiovisual media and 68 respondents in the other group using leaflet media. The sampling technique is proportional random sampling. The research instrument used a knowledge, attitude and practice questionnaire. Analysis of research data using the Wilcoxon sign rank test and Mann Whitney test. The results of the study obtained from the Wilcoxon sign rank test that the knowledge, practice and attitude of the majority respondents before being given health education got sufficient and poor results, and then after receiving health education there was an increase. The results of the Mann Whitney test for health education using audiovisual media have a higher effectiveness than using leaflet media with a difference in knowledge of 0.21 points with a p-value of 0.001 in practice the difference is 0.32 points with a p-value of 0.000 and a difference in attitude of 1.50 points with a p-value of 0.022.
