Abstract
Proper newborn care can affect the continuity of the baby's development and growth. Based on data from the Health Demographic Survey (IMR) for Indonesia in 2012 that the infant mortality rate reached 23 babies per 1000 live births. In Sragen Regency itself in 2020 there were 82 cases of infant mortality under 28 days of age. To reduce the mortality rate of newborns, especially in Sragen Regency, preventive measures need to be taken, one of which is by providing health education about newborn care with the right media so that maternal knowledge and practice can increase so that newborn care can be carried out properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the level of knowledge and practice of pregnant women about newborn care between audiovisual media and leaflet media in hospitals. dr. Soeratno Gemolong Sragen. This type of research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique, the number of respondents in this study was 166 respondents. The results of the study were the mean value in the posttest leaflet group (79.17) and in the audiovisual posttest group (80.43). So that the value of leaflet media < audiovisual media, then the provision of audiovisual media is more effective than leaflet media.
