Abstract

This study aims to estimate the direction and magnitude of the influence of monetary policy on inflation in Indonesia through the Mundell-Fleming (IS-LM) theory approach. The independent variables used in this study were the rupiah exchange rate, the money supply, and interest rates. The data used in this study is secondary data of the time series type from 1999 to 2020 obtained from the Central Statistik Agency (BPS) and Bank Indonesia (BI). The analytical method used in this research is Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). The results of this study indicate that the exchange rate has a positive effect on inflation in Indonesia, the money supply has a negative effect on inflation in Indonesia, and interest rates have no effect on inflation in Indonesia. To maintain economic stabilization, the government must maximize the level of production as well as goods and services so that inflation is under control.
