Abstract
Lifestyle is a person's pattern of living in the world which is expressed in activities, interests and opinions. Lifestyle describes a person's whole self in interaction with the environment, lifestyle is a factor in the emergence of increased blood pressure or what is commonly called high blood pressure or hyp ertension. Uncontrolled hypertension can cause 7 times greater chance of having a stroke, 6 times more likely to develop congestive heart disease and 3 times more likely to have a heart attack. This study aims to determine the relationship between lifestyle and blood pressure values in patients with hypertension at UPT Puskesmas Nusukan. This research method is correlation. Sampling using purposive sampling technique with a total of 100 people. Lifestyle was measured using a lifestyle questionnaire and blood pressure was measured using a sphygmomanometer. The results of this study showed that most of the patients had an unfavorable lifestyle with severe blood pressure. Data analysis was carried out using the Gamma test with (p = 0.013), then there was a significant relationship between lifestyle and blood pressure in patients with hypertension at UPT Puskesmas Nusukan Surakarta with a weak relationship level.
