Abstract
Two television stations belonging to the MNC Group, RCTI and iNews, have filed a lawsuit against the Broadcasting Law to the Constitutional Court (MK). The two media companies submitted a judicial review of the Broadcasting Law and assessed that Article 1 point 2 of the Broadcasting Law caused different treatment between conventional broadcasters and internet-based broadcasters. This study aims to find out how the framing of broadcasting conflicts in the RCTI lawsuit and iNews lawsuits against the Broadcasting Law to the Constitutional Court (MK). The framing model used in this research is Zhondang Pan and Gerald M. For Pan and Kosicki's framing model which focuses on framing news narratives in the mass media. This study uses a qualitative method by analyzing three sindonews.com news and three news in the media Kompas.com as research samples which are analyzed using four elements of framing as an analytical tool, namely elements of sintaksis, skrip, tematik dan retoris. The results of the study show two things in the news. First, reporting on broadcasting conflicts where Kompas.com media through its reporting sees the conflict as a conflict dealing with the narrative of freedom of expression. Meanwhile, Sindonews.com media focuses on equality between conventional broadcasting and streaming. Second, the selection of sources where Kompas.com tends to choose sources from both parties. Meanwhile, Media sindonews.com has a tendency to choose sources from the reporting party.
