Abstract
Background : PHBS is a collection of behaviors that are carried out by individuals and communities on the basis of self-awareness so that they can improve their health status and play an active role in community activities. Each age group is expected to be able to apply PHBS practices in daily activities, including the elderly. The decrease in various physical, psychological and social aspects in the elderly can affect independence in clean and healthy living behavior. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with PHBS for the elderly in the Gambirsari Health Center Work Area. Methods : Correlative descriptive quantitative research with a cross sectional, the number of samples was 99 elderly by purposive sampling. Data analysis using Chi-Square test. Results : The results of PHBS for the elderly in the good category were 67 respondents (67.7%) and the poor category was 32 respondents (32.3%). The results of the Chi-Square statistical test show that there is a relationship between education level p = 0.000, occupation p = 0.011, income p = 0.000, knowledge p = 0.000 and there is no relationship between age p = 0.761 and gender p = 0.633 with PHBS elderly in the Region Gambirsari Health Center work. Conclusion = variables of education level, occupation, income and knowledge have a relationship with PHBS in the elderly, while age and gender have no relationship in the application of PHBS in the elderly.
