Abstract

Character education is very important to be internalized to students because adolescence is the most important period in the cycle of human life. In this adolescent period, children enter a vulnerable period, in the sense that if they are ignored or not given proper education by their parents, it will result in the child growing and developing with bad character. Therefore, the researcher wanted to know how the method of internalizing character education values at the boarding school at MTs Terpadu Al-Hikmah Karanggede Boyolali? and what are the supporting factors and inhibiting factors for the method of internalizing character education values at the boarding school at MTs Terpadu Al-Hikmah Karanggede Boyolali?. The purpose of this study is to describe the method of internalizing character education values at the boarding school at MTs Terpadu Al-Hikmah Karanggede Boyolali and to identify the supporting factors and inhibiting factors for the method of internalizing character education values at the boarding school at MTs Terpadu Al-Hikmah. Karanggede Boyolali. The type of research used in this research is field research using a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The technique of data validity is through observation and triangulation persistence. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and ends with conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the method of internalizing the values of character education at the boarding school at MTs Terpadu Al-Hikmah Karanggede Boyolali is to apply various methods, including the habituation method, the exemplary method, the advice method, and the punishment method. The purpose of the character education method applied is to make it easier to internalize the values of character education in boarding school students. The values of character education that are internalized in boarding school students are religious values, discipline, independence, communicativeness, environmental care, and responsibility. There are also supporting factors and inhibiting factors consisting of internal factors and external factors in the implementation of the method of internalizing character education values at the boarding school at MTs Terpadu Al-Hikmah Karanggede Boyolali.
