Abstract
The Gender Empowerment Index (DEI), especially the income contribution of Indonesian women has increased. The gender gap has begun to decrease, more and more women are participating in the economic, social and political roles. However, married women who act as housewives make women's decisions to participate in the labour market more complex. The purpose of this study is to find out what factors influence the decision of a married woman to work. This study, using a binary logistic regression analysis model with a quantitative approach and uses primary data. Primary data obtained from questionnaires with married women’s respondents (15-65 years old) in Ngadirojo District, Pacitan. In taking the sample of this study using the multistage sampling method then proportional sampling. Based on the analysis results, it is known that the husband's income variable, the number of family dependents, and the presence of children under five have a significant influence on the decision of a married women’s to work. Meanwhile, age and education variables do not have a significant effect on a married women's decision for working.
