Abstract
This research was conducted at Karno Beton UKM located in North Klaten. The production of concrete blocks that still relies on humans with manual material handling in a number of manufacturing processes results in the transfer of raw materials into concrete blocks. The purpose of this study was to determine complaints and the level of risk of Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSDs) in workers and make suggestions for improvement. This study aimed at 3 brick production workers completed by the Ovako Working Analysis System (OWAS) method. There are 7 postures classified in category 3 (dangerous to the musculoskeletal system and need immediate repair) and category 4 (very dangerous to the musculoskeletal system and need to be repaired directly), put sand, inserting sand into the mixer, lifting cement, taking water, put mixture, put the mixture into the press and lift the brick. The results of the proposed improvement add tools such as scopes and brick trolleys, changing the size of water storage work stations and changing the position of the lifting work posture to minimize the risk of musculoskeletal disorders.
