Abstract

Introduction: Mental health is still one of the significant problems in the world, because health is an important thing for humans as well as basic needs. Healthy is not only seen as free from disease but also covers all aspects of human life which include physical, emotional, social and spiritual. According to medical records at the Surakarta City Health Center Pajang, it was recorded that in 2019 there were 107 mental patients who were divided in four different sub-districts, and the area with the most mental disorders was Pajang, which was 50 people. Objective: to determine the description of individual attitudes and behavior in patients with mental disorders in the community. Research methods: This research uses a quantitative descriptive design. The population in this study was the community in three RWs in the town of Pajang, Surakarta, totaling 4,465 people. The sample used in this study were 99 respondents using random sampling techniques, namely non-probability purposive sampling. The analysis used is univariate analysis with central tendency. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Results: Individuals in Kelurahan Pajang, Surakarta city had differences in attitudes that were not significant enough but were more inclined to negative or unsupportive in mental patients while for the majority of individuals the behavior was less good in people with mental disorders.
