Abstract

Kali Talang is one of the tourist attractions in the Klaten Regency area, specifically in Balerante Village, Kemalang District. Kali Talang tourism has excellent potential for development, this is supported by the many diverse potentials from the surrounding natural conditions such as the view of Mount Merapi which is the main spot for Kali Talang tourism. Sustainable development is expected to have a positive impact on progress and increase tourist attraction. This research aims to: (1) Find out the potential of the Kali Talang Ecotourism object in Kemalang District, Klaten Regency. (2) Knowing the supporting and inhibiting factors as well as strategies for developing the Kali Talang Ecotourism object in Kemalang District, Klaten Regency. The method used in this research is a field survey method to find out what the current development conditions are at the Kali Talang tourist attraction and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in this development and to analyze development strategies that can be carried out in the future. The research results show that the internal potential of the Kali Talang tourist attraction is relatively high and the external potential is moderate. Several external sectors need to be developed well and planned. Supporting factors in the form of the natural conditions of Merapi Mount are the main points in attracting tourists as well as inhibiting factors, low access to public transportation and the need to increase the quality and quantity of complementary factors, such as seating facilities, bathrooms and places of worship.
