Abstract
Mount Muria in Kudus Regency has tremendous natural potential to be used as a special interest tourism destination, especially in climbing activities. However, the utilisation and development of this potential is still not optimal. The lack of structured and easily accessible information about hiking trails, natural beauty, and supporting facilities or infrastructure makes it difficult for tourists to plan their hikes. The objectives of this study are (1) Identifying the characteristics of the hiking trails of Mount Muria Puncak Natas Angin and Puncak 29 with ArcGIS Storymaps visualisation. (2) Analyse the potential development of Mount Muria climbing in Kudus Regency. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with its implementation, namely by field surveys which include direct observation, recording, trekking, taking photos and videos, and interviews with climbers on hiking trails. This research produced an ArcGIS Storymaps website about the Natas Angin and Puncak 29 hiking trails which can be accessed by link (https://arcg.is/1Hi8KD2). Analysis of the characteristics of the Mount Muria hiking trail shows that the Natas Angin trail has a higher difficulty than the peak 29 trail because it has a slope of 30.33% with a longer travel time of about 204 minutes. Development strategies that can be carried out include applying the concept of ecotourism, creating a digital information centre, making climbing packages, improving supporting and safety facilities and making strict regulations for ecosystem destroyers on Mount Muria.
