Abstract

A construction project is one that contains the necessities of life. The components involved are the use of bricks. The production of bricks in Sukoharjo is shaded by SMEs, one of which is Mr. Wahyono's SME. In the production process in SME, they still use conventional methods, SME have a grinding machine that can help the mixing process, but due to limited business management capabilities, the machine is not used in the production process. The purpose of this study was to analyze which level of productivity is better between the manual process and the process using a semi-automatic mixer in the brick production process. The research method used is the calculation of standard time using the Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) method and the cost of production with a full costing approach and selling price determination using the cost plus pricing method. The results obtained from the research are the cycle time in the semi-automatic machine production process is 9% faster than the manual production process, but the production cost with the machine is 5% higher. Recommendations for improvement are the production process using semi-automatic machines by doubling production output to 800 bricks per day, then making Production SOPs so that they can create a time-effective and cost-efficient production system and increase profits for related SME.
