Abstract

The process of making starch rambak has six stages starting from the process of mixing, pouring, steaming, storage in the semi-finished goods warehouse (GBSJ), cutting and drying. Work activities are carried out manually so that it can cause musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the hands, back, neck, shoulders and elbows. The purpose of this study was to analyze the MSDs received by the employees of UKM Rambak Nawan at the GBSJ work station and steam. This study uses the LUBA and ACGIH-HAL methods which are applied to 3 employees. The results of data processing using the ACGIH-HAL method from the three employees are in category 2, which means the coordinates are between the AL and TLV lines, so the actions that need to be taken are determining work limits, changing workplaces and medical supervision. While the results of the LUBA method of the three employees have an average work activity in the LUBA III and IV categories, which means that it is important to evaluate through remaking on the work station and this posture requires immediate comprehensive improvement. From the results of data processing, it can be concluded that the work carried out has a high risk of MSDs in the upper body posture and the level of hand activity, so that work at the GBSJ and steaming stations needs to be improved. Workplace repairs can be simulated using catia software, solidwork, sketch and anthropometric data. From the work improvement simulation, the LUBA score was calculated and it was found that the work improvement simulation could reduce the work posture index burden, because all the activities carried out by the three employees were in categories II and III.
