Abstract

Films that have been announced have received appreciation, especially from the audience, creating gaps in the form of violations. Violations were committed by some irresponsible parties to take advantage of the popularity of the film to gain economic benefits. The aims of this research are: a) to find out the copyright protection of movies by youtube; b) to find out the rights and obligations of reviewers to upload films through YouTube. The approach used is a known normative juridical, the authors choose the form of a normative approach in the form of an inventory of laws and regulations and in-concreto legal findings. The type of research used by the author is descriptive research. The results of the research obtained are that YouTube cooperates with copyright owners and creators in all aspects of synchronizing the copyright management suite through features based on content scale and the ability to dedicate to managing content online with full responsibility. The copyright management suite on YouTube gives copyright owners control over any material that contains their work on YouTube. YouTube's copyright management suite gives copyright owners control over their creations. The copyright management suite is supported by content ID matching which is a best-in-class technology and works to detect content infringement. YouTube's provisions regarding the authority of YouTube to grant and have authority over copyright are that YouTube cannot mediate rights ownership disputes. Upon receipt of a complete and valid takedown notice, YouTube will remove the content in accordance with applicable law. When it receives a valid recovery request, youtube will forward it to the person requesting the removal of the content. After that, YouTube will submit the matter to the parties involved to resolve it in court. YouTube also explained that including the name of the copyright owner does not automatically give the right to use the copyrighted work of the creator.
