Abstract

The principal does not only manage the school in a static sense, but also mobilizes all the potentials that are directly or indirectly related to the interests of the student learning process. The role of the principal in creating effective and efficient learning conditions will have an impact on the quality of achievement and the future of students. Based on observations and interviews with several educators and education staff, information was obtained that the political tactics applied at SMP Muhammadiyah Plus Salatiga should be evaluated for the realization of a better school. The research method used is this research is an evaluation research conducted using the discrepancy model. The purpose of program evaluation with the discrepancy model is to help administrators make decisions for the continuation of the next program (Dimmitt, 2010, p.45). Program evaluation research with this discrepancy model is focused on three aspects which include planning, implementation, and program evaluation. In this evaluation research, the most widely used methods are document review, hearings, and in-depth interviews. Based on the results of the study using the effectiveness criteria, it was found that the method of evaluating the course of political tactics in the form of building networks, managing information, and building coalitions at SMP Muhammadiyah Plus Salatiga City is that the head of SMP Muhammadiyah Plus Salatiga has a strategy of building coalitions as a means of equalizing perceptions and unifying the thoughts of every employee. educators to be able to formulate school programs so that the programs that are run can be optimal.
