Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of economic growth, minimum wages, and education on the number of poor people in the province of Central Java for the period 2014-2018. This type of research is quantitative research. The data collection method used is documentation from Central Java BPS using data in this study as many as 35 districts/cities. This study uses panel data regression analysis method with FEM model. Minimum wage variables have a significant effect on the number of poor people. Economic, growth, and education variables does not affect the number of poor people. Seeing that only the minimum wage has a significant and negative effect on poverty, the government should be able to increase the minimum wage for every district/city in the province of Central Java.
