Abstract

Blora Regency is located in the eastern part of Central Java Province and is a relatively dry area compared to other areas in Central Java Province. From the limited water sources, the Randugunting Dam was built with appropriate planning. Randugunting Dam was built with an upright core zonal rockfill dam type. This study aims to re-analyze the elevation safety of the Randugunting Dam against the potential for overtopping based on design flooding using a different method from the method used by the planner. This research was conducted using secondary data obtained from various sources with rainfall data for the period 2011-2020, reservoir characteristics data, and Randugunting dam watershed maps. The analysis of this research begins by analyzing the rainfall data which is then followed by an analysis of flood tracking using the Goodrich and Pulls Graphical methods while the calculation analysis used by the planner is using the ITB-2 method. From the results of the analysis of flood tracking, the percentage of flood attenuation using the Goodrich was 99.54%, and using the Pulls Graphical was 87.22%. Analysis of flood elevation calculations using the Goodrich obtained a maximum water level of 94.93 m, the elevation is 4.07 m lower than the elevation of the top of the dam. Analysis of calculations using the Pulls Graphical obtained a maximum water level of 94.86 m, which means it is 4.14 m lower than the dam peak elevation. The results of the analysis carried out by planners using the ITB-2 method obtained a maximum water level of 96.5 m, the elevation is 2.5 m lower than the elevation of the dam peak. The calculation analysis resulted in the maximum water level being smaller than the design maximum water level, so based on the calculation analysis the Randugunting Dam is safe against the potential for overtopping caused by flooding.
