Abstract

This research is based on the problem of a lack of human care for the environment and the problem of waste which has become a global issue. MTsN 1 Ponorogo is one of the schools in Ponorogo Regency that won the National Adiwiyata Madrasah award in 2021. In schools to shape the morals of students to the environment, it is necessary to inculcate and understand the values of moral education towards the environment by religious teachers. From the above background, the author conducted a research entitled "The Role of Religious Teachers in the Implementation of Moral Education Values on the Environment in the Adiwiyata Madrasah Program at MTsN 1 Ponorogo in the 2021/2022 Academic Year." This research is a research using a qualitative research paradigm by using data collection methods through observation, interviews and documentation. The objectives of this study are 1. To know the role of religious teachers in implementing the values of moral education on the environment to students at MTsN 1 Ponorogo. 2. Knowing the inhibiting factors of religious teachers in implementing the values of moral education to the environment at MTsN 1 Ponorogo. This research approach uses a phenomenological. This research method uses in-depth interviews, documentation, and observation. Data analysis techniques with correlation techniques and data validity techniques with triangulation of sources and methods. The results of this study conclude that the form of implementing the values of moral education on the environment to students is carried out through learning and non-learning. The role of religious teachers in implementing moral education values for the environment to students at MTsN 1 Ponorogo has been going well. The implementation process is carried out through 4 teacher roles, namely the role of religious teachers as Educator, Motivator, Supervisor, and Facilitator in the learning process and daily activities in the classroom and outside the classroom. However, in its implementation, obstacles were found, namely the character and morals of each student, the habits of each student at home, and the sensitivity, awareness of each student to the environment, so teachers need to be patient and continue to remind students to take care of their environment.
