Abstract

Cancer is a non-communicable disease characterized by the presence of abnormal cells / tissues that are malignant, grow rapidly uncontrollably and can spread to other places in the patient's body. One method of treatment carried out in people with cancer is chemotherapy. Side effects of chemotherapy can cause a decrease in appetite in cancer patients so that it has an impact on the adequacy of energy intake and macro nutrients. This will also have an impact on the nutritional status of cancer patients. This study aims to find out the relationship of macronutrient intake with the nutritional status of chemotherapy patients with cancer. This research uses a design literature review, obtained from google scholar, SINTA, and ARJUNA with the latest research year that is the last 10 years. Of the 10 journals that have been reviewed, 6 journals said there was a relationship between the intake of macro nutrients and the nutritional status of chemotherapy patients with cancer, while 3 journals said there was no relationship between the intake of macro nutrients with the nutritional status of chemotherapy patients with cancer. Related to the absence of an association due to several factors such as the patient's health condition, the cycle of chemotherapy carried out, the stage of cancer, the nutritional status of the patient, nausea vomiting effects from chemotherapy, and the effects of supporting drugs.
