Abstract
The title of this research is "The Position of Daughter in Toba Batak Inheritance Law in North Sumatra". Departing from the problem of inheritance law for girls in Batak Toba customary inheritance law and how the rights as heirs of daughters are in Batak Toba inheritance law. consideration of the distribution of inheritance for girls in the Toba Batak custom. This type of research is descriptive/qualitative research. The data that the author collects is from the results of direct interviews with the Toba Batak indigenous people in North Sumatra, precisely in Mangkai Lama Village. In general, in Batak Toba customary law, girls are treated the same as boys. But daughters can enjoy their father's property in a variety of ways. "Holong Ate" (Love) refers to the transfer of property from parents to their children, whether male or female. The gift of property has a different term. The assets given to sons are known as "Panjaean Treasures" while daughters' valuables are known as "Pauseang".
