Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in six ASEAN countries in 2005-2019. Researchers take economic growth, interest rates, and inflation rates as the main topics. The quantitative analysis method used uses secondary data on a panel basis for the period 2005-2019 by combining six countries in ASEAN (Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines). The results of the t-statistical test show that economic growth and inflation have a significant effect on foreign investment in six ASEAN countries. Meanwhile, the nominal interest rate does not have a significant effect on foreign investment in the 6 ASEAN countries. The test results of the determinant coefficient R-squared (R2) based on a cross section of 0.141387, meaning that 14.14% of the variation of foreign investment variables in 6 ASEAN countries can be explained by the independent variables of economic growth, nominal interest rates, and inflation rates in the model. statistics
