Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is one of the causes that can affect the capital market and investment activities in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on tourism companies in the hotel, restaurant, and tourism sub-sector. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data taken in the form of secondary data with the method of documentation. This type of research uses an event study with an event window during t-12 (before the event) and t + 12 (at the time of the event). The data used is data in the form of monthly stock prices. Then the data were analyzed using the normality test and the average difference test. The results of the study prove that the Average Abnormal Return (AAR) with a value of (0.040 < 0.05) has a significant difference between before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the Average Trading Volume Activity (ATVA) with a value of (0.875 > 0.05) proved that there was no significant difference between before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. .
