Abstract

Soil is an essential component of all living organism as a media of development and growth the variety of soil microbes, bacteria, archaea, and fungi that have an important role in the ecosystem. Microbes in the soil have the largest population of all habitats, but anticancer of fungus-based drugs is still too limited. The result of soil microbial cultures has been a productive source of natural drugs as cancer chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin, hydrochloride, bleomycin, daunorubicin and mitomycin. The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of cytotoxic and the value of IC50 extract of fungal methanol from three different ecosystems on MCF-7 breast cancer cells. Researchers conducted soil screening to obtain fungal isolates from three different ecosystems, such as rice fields, rivers and swamps by diluting the soil suspension with saline solution. The method used in this research is the MTT assay method. The results of the cytotoxic test showed that the methanol extract of the swamp fungi with an IC50 of 3.564 µg/ml has the best inhibition against MCF-7 breast cancer cells, compared to the extracts of fungi methanol from rice field with an IC50 7.379 µg/mL and river with an IC50 33.496 µg/ml
