Abstract

Junior high school (SMP) is one level of school after elementary school (SD). This stage is the time when the child's growth and development begins and begins to feel the bullying that often occurs. Bullying can hurt a child's mental health and well-being in the long term. This study aims to analyze the bullying phenomenon that occurs in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura from the form, factors, impact of bullying, and school solutions. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a side purposive technique. Data collection techniques in the form of interviews and questionnaires. The subjects studied were three students who were bullied and three students who experienced bullying in grade 8. Based on the results of the study, it was found that (1) three forms of bullying occurred in grade 8 of Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura Middle School, namely physical bullying, verbal bullying, and social bullying. (2) The factors that cause bullying behavior are family, peer, and environmental factors. (3) The impact of bullying that occurs is that the victim suffers. (4) The solution that can be done to prevent bullying at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Kartasura is to socialize about cases of bullying in schools and take steps to prevent it.
