Abstract

Geographical Indication is a sign or expression that reflects the area of origin of an item which due to geographical environmental factors includes natural factors, human factors or a combination of these two factors which further gives specific characteristics, characteristics and qualities of a particular product. Geographical indications are regulated in the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2016 concerning brands and geographical indications. One of the handicraft products that has the potential to be able to obtain protection for Geographical Indications is the Stone Souvenir craft. This stone souvenir in Krikilan Village, Kalijambe has its own characteristics. Legal protection is the protection of dignity and worth, as well as the recognition of human rights owned by legal subjects based on legal provisions from arbitrariness. With that, the stone souvenirs in Krikilan Village need to get legal protection for geographical indications.
