Abstract

Concrete buis or what is often known to the public with concrete culverts is one of the precast concrete products which is often used in drainage works. In its use, concrete buis has several advantages over using river stone material, including a faster and more environmentally friendly project implementation time. Along with the progress of the times, many innovations have been made in order to get stronger but still economical concrete and can reduce the amount of waste by adding added materials, one of which is by adding Fly Ash. In this study, a fas value of 0.3 was used with a mix design according to SNI 03-2834-2000 and the variation in the percentage of adding iron lathe waste by 0%, 3.5%, and 7.5% of the weight of cement. The tests carried out include the compressive strength test, flexural strength test, water absorption test, and water loss. The test objects used are 9 concrete cylinders with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm, a concrete block with a size of 60 cm x 15 cm x. 12 pieces of 15 cm, concrete buis with an inner diameter of 27 cm, an inner diameter of 20 cm, a height of 100 cm. The test is carried out when the test object is 28 days old. Based on the tests that have been carried out, the compressive strength value of the test object with a percentage of added material 0% has the highest average compressive strength value of 33.86 MPa, the test object with the percentage of added material has increased, of the two variations tested the most optimal, namely a percentage of 7.5% with a value of 40.37 MPa, for the Buis concrete test object also experienced an increase in value such as the most optimal cylindrical specimen in the 7.5% mixture with a value of 0.017 MPa. Then in the flexural strength test for the flexural strength value increased along with the number of added material presentations and the highest was the percentage of added material 7.5% of 7.422 MPa. For the water absorption test, there was a decline after being mixed with Fly Ash waste, the minimum water absorption value between the test object and the added material was the percentage of 7.5% added material of -1.31%. Then the water loss test with concrete as the test object is considered to be the optimum water loss at a variation of 7.5% with an average value within 1 hour 23.98 liters Thus Fly Ash waste can be used as an added material in the manufacture of concrete buis while paying attention to the levels in order to obtain optimal result.
