Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of profitability, leverage, and firm size on earnings management and corporate financial distress. This research was conducted on manufacturing companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index for the 2018-2020 period. This type of research is quantitative research. The sampling method used is purposive sampling method by obtaining 10 companies that meet the criteria as samples. The analytical method used is panel data regression analysis using Eviews09. The results of the study state that Profitability, Leverage, and Company Size partially affect Earnings Management. However, Profitability, Leverage, and Company Size partially have no effect on Financial Distress.
