Abstract
Gundala is an action fiction film by Joko Anwar with the theme of social problems. In this social problem there is a class that plays an important role in it. Social class is the division of community groups based on education, occupation, property ownership, and lifestyle. The purpose of this research is to show how these classes are shown in the Gundala film. The type of research used is qualitative research using the Roland Barthes semiotic analysis method. This research focuses on the scene where the social class is represented. The results of this study indicate that the representation of social class is divided into 4 (four) categories. First, the representation of lower social class which describes a child who doest not get a proper education due to econimic factors. Second, the representation of the upper social class which is shown fashion, wealth, and position by members of the council. Third, the representation of vertical conflicts between the lower social class and the upper social class because workers are exploited by factory owners. Then the last is the representation of the gap between classes the families of factory workers and the families of council members which is indicated by where each class lives.
