Abstract

Almost all dams currently use a water level monitoring system that automatically measures the water discharge in the dam in real time. And there are still some dams that use a monitoring system with conventional methods. The conventional water level monitoring system that is commonly used by some dams is still considered ineffective in real time. It is hoped that the IoT-based water level monitoring system can increase the efficiency of dam performance and reduce the risk of overflowing dam water. The system made in the research is a water level monitoring system and IoT-based dam gate control. This research was made using the concept of the Internet of Things. The working principle, the HC-SR04 sensor is used to read the water level. There are two systems in regulating the dam door, automatically or manually. In automatic mode the dam door will rise during an emergency water situation and when in manual mode it can be controlled via the website. There are several additional features for monitoring ambient conditions such as air temperature, humidity and rain. Using a DHT11 sensor for measuring temperature and humidity, then to detect raindrops using a rain drop sensor. All monitoring information entering the web server will be processed, then displayed on the website and can be accessed via internet-connected devices.
