Abstract
The background of this research is the deixis found in the lyrics of the song on Lucas Graham's album. The objectives of this study are 1) to classify the kinds of deixis are used by Lucas Graham in the Blue album 2) to describe how the use of deixis in the meaning of the song lyrics in Lucas Graham in Blue album. The author uses (Levinson's, 1983) theory to classify the types of deixis from the lyrics and (Griffits, 2006) theory to describe how the use of deixis in the meaning of Lucas Graham's song lyrics on the Blue album. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data of this research are song lyrics from Lucas Graham's album. The data validation method in this research is using the data triangulation method. This study was analyzed through the steps of reading, listening, analyzing, identifying and categorizing, and making the conclusion. The results of this study are 1) There are five kinds of deixis used by Lucas Graham in the album Blue according to Levinson's theory, namely, person deixis, space deixis, time deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis 2) The use of deixis in the meaning of Lucas Graham's song lyrics in the album Blue. The use of deixis as a pronoun is based on the meaning of sentences that have deixis.
