Abstract

MI Muhammadiyah Parakan Karangayar during this pandemic conducted online and offline learning. During a pandemic, there are deviant student behaviors such as doing assignments carelessly, copying friends' answers without being studied. This behavior reflects that the character of honesty and responsibility has not been fully embedded. MI Muhammadiyah Parakan Karangayar previously had a character-based program, but needed a new way to instill character in students during this pandemic. The purpose of this study is to describe: 1) how to instill honest and responsible character during the pandemic at MI Muhammadiyah Parakan Karangayar, 2) obstacles in inculcating honest and responsible character during the pandemic at MI Muhammadiyah Parakan Karangayar, 3) solutions to the obstacles that arise. experienced. This type of research is qualitative with a phenomenological design. The primary data sources of the research were obtained through observation, documentation and interviews with principals, teachers and students. Relevant previous research, journals, articles, and books related to character education were used as secondary data sources. Test the validity of the data in this study using triangulation of sources and techniques. The data analysis technique consists of three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that: 1) the way to cultivate honest and responsible characters during the pandemic was through communication books, providing understanding, reminding, advising, and motivating both directly and through social media. 2) the obstacles experienced are limited time, less direct interaction with students, cooperation and communication with parents is not optimal, and students often play games. 3) the solution to these obstacles is to maximize communication and interaction through communication books and online. Then always remind and motivate students. Make home visits to provide direction and input to parents.
