Abstract

Sragen Regency is still faced with nutritional problems for children under two years old (Baduta), namely stunting. Children with a history of low birth weight and low PBL is one of the factors that may affect the growth and development of children. Kedawung Village is one of the villages with the highest prevalence of stunting in Sragen Regency, which is 20.75%. This study aims to determine the relationship between birth weight and birth length with the incidence of stunting in children aged 6-24 months in Kedawung Mondokan Village, Sragen Regency in 2021 using secondary data. This research method uses an analytic observational study with a retrospective cohort design. The population in this study were children aged 6-24 months. The sample amounted to 87 children who were divided into two groups. Data analysis was univariable and bivariable using the chi-square test with a significance level of p=<0.05 and 95% CI. The results showed that most of the subjects who experienced stunting were 62.1% of children aged 13-24 months. Male subjects experienced greater stunting than women, namely 58.6%. While subjects with a history of normal BBL were 78.2%, 58.6% were included in the Stunting category. Research subjects who have a history of normal PBL are 65.5% and those who are stunted are 51.7%. The conclusion obtained is that the birth weight of children has a significant relationship with the incidence of stunting, while the length of the child's birth does not have a significant relationship with the incidence of stunting in children aged 6-24 months in Kedawung Village.
