Abstract
Land suitability is the level of suitability of a field or land for a particular land use. The purpose of this study is to analyze the land suitability class for residential areas in Gatak Regency and analyze the dominant physical factors that affect the suitability of residential land in Gatak Regency.The research method used in this study is a survey method with direct field mapping and laboratory analysis, and the sampling method used is a stratified sampling method with field units as stratum. Measurement in the field aims to measure 7 parameters that determine the suitability of residential land, the analysis uses the statistical method of frequency, namely the field unit as the unit of analysis. Based on the observations that have been made, it is known that the land suitability in Gatak District is divided into three classes, namely suitable, moderate, and inappropriate classes. The suitable land suitability class has an area of 207 ha of the total area of the study area and the medium land suitability class is 735 ha while the unsuitable land suitability class has a suitable land area. covering an area of 1,039 ha Land Suitability Class for settlement with Appropriate Class is found in field unit V13IIGKP, V13IIGKSw, V13IIGKTg, V13IIIGKP, V13IIIGKSw, V13IIIGKTg, then Middle Class in field unit V13IIIRKP V13IIIRKSw, and Class Not suitable in field unit V13IIRKT, V13IIRKT13, V13IRTIRKT13, V13IRTIRKT13, The study area that received the Class was not suitable based on factors such as the presence of flooding, flat slopes, soil texture and inappropriate land use.
