Abstract

The process of making batik cap through 5 stages, namely tasting, color dyeing, hot tub spraying and cold tubs, and drying. This process lasts for repeatedly for a long time, causing workers to potentially experience musculoskeletal complaints and the risk of CTDs. The purpose of this study is to find out workers have a risk of developing CTDs or not. The study was conducted using a method to determine the level of worker complaints with the Nordic Body Map questionnaire. After knowing each level of worker complaints, the CTD Risk Index method is used to determine the risk score for muscle injury in workers, if the score > 1, it is relatively unsafe so it needs improvement. The 2 largest scores on the CTD Risk Index worksheet will be further analyzed to determine the factors for musculoskeletal risk with plibel checklist. The results of the study obtained are, there are 2 work stations that have the highest score from the CTD Risk Index, namely color immersion and cold tub spraying, this is caused by awkward posture when working, repetitive movements and poor work station conditions so that improvements need to be made. Proposed improvements to the color dyeing work station and cold tub spraying in the form of design proposals as well as working postures from the two workers.
