Abstract

The development of information and communication technology is increasingly advanced today, making the spread of culture also widespread. K-Pop is one of the most loved popular cultures, it turns out that it not only creates euphoria but also forms consumptive behavior in fans, which is shown through various activities of consuming and buying K-Pop stuff. This research was conducted with the aim of finding out how Instagram forms the phenomenon of consumptive behavior among K-Pop fans. This qualitative research uses a phenomenological approach by Alfred Schutz which seeks to find out how the life of a society is formed. The research was conducted by analyzing the data that had been collected through interviews with 5 informan as primary data and using previous research as secondary data. The conclusion of this study is that Instagram is able to shape the pattern of consumptive behavior for K-Pop fans as a result of the meanings that arise from their experience in consuming contet about K-Pop on Instagram social media.
