Abstract

The increasing number of modern supermarkets that exist today encourages people to no longer shop at traditional markets. Therefore, the government launched Program Revitalisasi Pasar Rakyat to increase competitiveness against the modern market. It is hoped that this revitalization can be an effort to repair and improve physical facilities and management of traditional market. Therefore, Kartasura Market as one of the six markets that contributes the largest income in Sukoharjo Regency needs to be revitalized. In addition, the very apprehensive market conditions are also another major factor. The market building already looks unattractive because the age of the building is old and also not well maintained. There are other problems in the market, such as commodities and zonations that are still mixed up as well as narrow circulation and are used by traders to trade to make it easier to find buyers. Therefore it is necessary to make changes to the market building for the better. The intended changes are planning and redesigning the Kartasura Traditional Market in accordance with existing standards through space flexibility and human adaptation approaches. So that it can accommodate various kinds of buying and selling activities as a center for community trading activities in an effective and flexible manner and fulfill K3L aspects. Keywords : revitalitation, redesign, markets, traditional
