Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the history, teachings, and processions of the Ampyang Maulid tradition in order to promote the character qualities of gotong royong and social caring. This study falls under the genre of qualitative research with a descriptive component (research results will be explained in the form of a description). This study used interview, documentation, and observation approaches to obtain data. For data validity, researchers used triangulation of collecting data methodologies and data sources. In analyzing data, the researcher employs a interactive model analysis, which includes methods such as data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions or verification. The findings of this study suggest that the Loram Kulon Village community is promoting the principles of mutual cooperation and social care that exist in the Ampyang Maulid tradition through recounting the history or background of the Ampyang Maulid tradition to the younger generation. Then, in accordance with the indicators of the value of the gotong royong character, carry out the teachings that exist in the Ampyang Maulid tradition into everyday life based on the background or history that has been told by community leaders or elders of Loram Kulon Village, and carry out the procession in the Ampyang Maulid tradition every year.
