Abstract

The working period is the length of time a person devotes himself to a job. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is closely related to the working period where the longer a person works with a lot of hand movements, the risk of CTS increases. Workers who have a working period of 4 years have an 18,096 times greater risk of contracting CTS compared to workers whose tenure is 1-4 years. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a relationship between tenure and the incidence of CTS in rubber tree tapping farmers. This research uses correlation analysis method with cross sectional research design. The population based on this study is the community with an age range of 30-45 years in the village of Suatu Lama. The research respondents were 48 people who fit the inclusion criteria. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, carried out by giving written questions to the respondents. Data were analyzed using SPSS through the Spearman test. The results of this study found a significant relationship between tenure and the incidence of CTS in rubber tree tapping farmers.
