Abstract

This study aimed to find out the distribution of poverty in the city of Surakarta and to estimate the factors that might have influenced it from 2018 to 2020. This type of research is a quantitative research using secondary data. The data analysis technique used was a panel data regression model with Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The results showed that the number of people graduating from high school had a negative effect on the number of poor people, the number of clean water users had a positive effect on the number of poor people, while the dependency ratio and population density had no effect on the number of poor people in Surakarta. Meanwhile, the results of the Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis show that spatially poverty in Surakarta City has a tendency to clump together, with the highest concentration of poverty identified in the northern part of Surakarta City including Banjarsari District and Jebres District.
