Abstract

Mediation in the Religious Courts, as an effort made to suppress the high rate of divorce that occurs every year, with the aim of reconciling husband and wife who want to divorce through a third party (Mediator).The high divorce rate and even almost every year it increases, so that it becomes a very difficult problem to be resolved amicably, for this reason there is a need for mediation, in the mediation process, it takes a long time, which is the main problem, namely "How is the Mediation Process at the Karanganyar Religious Court " This study aims to determine how the divorce mediation process at the Karanganyar Religious Court. The method used is a descriptive approach with research methods that describe legal events and facts in social life. The population in the Karanganyar Religious Court is 6 certified Mediator Judges. This study uses data collection techniques using interviews, literature study, and data analysis. The results of the research that the author conducted at the Karanganyar Religious Court is that mediation is not just a formality that must be passed in the divorce process, but in the mediation process, the Mediator Judge earnestly seeks the disputing parties, both husband and wife who want to divorce, to be able to resolve the problem. they face through the mediation process. The mediation process regulated in PERMA Number 1 of 2016 is about the mediation procedure in court.
