Abstract

Food is a necessity for all humans, so the level of public demand is quite high. With such high demand, many entrepreneurs are forming businesses in the culinary field. But today many eating places have not used the information system in conducting transactions. For example, customers want to order food but still manually by writing menus on paper and then giving it to employees of the eating place so that it is not shortened. With limited human resources and less effective time to serve customers who make orders, a food ordering information system is needed that can solve the problem. This system makes it easier when ordering food and earning management because when making transactions with customers, there is no need to manually write menus and customers can get accurate and fast info. With this system, the customer immediately knows the details of the transaction. This study uses a Waterfall methodology that was built with a CodeIgniter framework and database support using MySQL. The stage of data collection in making information systems is done by observation and interview methods. This system is implemented with a client-server network architecture by utilizing the Personal Computer at the cashier as a server to run without internet access. The results of this system include ordering menus, processing order data and transactions, and printing transaction notes in PDF format. Testing this system using the black box testing method shows that the system has run well without any errors. While the results of questionnaire testing of 31 respondents, consisting of 30 visitors who got an interpretation percentage of 96% and 1 coffee shop owner, got 80% of the interpretation percentage. So it can be concluded that the system is considered feasible to be applied and facilitates the food ordering process.
